AutoTracker Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information AutoTracker collects, how it is used, who can see it, and the choices you have. AutoTracker is developed for Sautech LLC ("we," "us," "our").

Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and zip code. You can also set a nickname and upload a profile photo. We use your email address to sign you in and to send sign-in and password-reset codes.

Vehicle and maintenance information. Anything you enter about your vehicles, including make, model, year, VIN, license plate, nickname, mileage, driving style, maintenance tasks and any notes you add to them, and service history entries (service name, date, mileage, and cost).

Receipts and photos. The vehicle photos, receipt images, and profile photo you choose to upload. You can export your service history as a PDF, which opens your device's share sheet so you can send or save it wherever you choose — the app itself does not write to your photo library.

Location. If you use the nearby repair shops feature, the app requests your device's location so it can search for nearby shops. Your location is sent to our backend, which uses it to query the Google Places API on your behalf. We do not store your location in our database.

Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we store a device push token so we can deliver maintenance reminders, service warnings, and occasional announcements to your device.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to operate the app's core features: tracking your vehicles and their maintenance, storing your service history and receipts, showing you nearby repair shops, and sending you maintenance-related notifications. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not use analytics tools to profile your behavior.

Who Can See Your Information

You can. Everything you enter is visible to you in the app.

We can. Sautech LLC uses an administration tool to run the app. Through it, an authorized administrator can see the list of registered accounts including your name, email address, phone number, zip code and nickname; can view the vehicles on your account including VIN and license plate; can deactivate or permanently delete an account; and can send a notification to everyone or to an individual account. Access to this tool is restricted to authorized administrators.

Our service providers can, to the limited extent described in the next section.

Third Parties We Share Information With

We work with a small number of service providers to run the app. Each one only receives the information it needs to perform its function:

• Convex hosts our database and file storage, including your account data, vehicle data, and uploaded images.
• Expo delivers push notifications to your device using your device's push token.
• Resend sends transactional emails on our behalf, including sign-in and password-reset codes.
• Google Places receives your device location, or an address you type, when you use the nearby shops feature, so it can return matching repair shops. This request is routed through our own backend; our Google API key is never exposed to your device.
• Google Firebase Hosting serves our administration tool and the web form used to request account deletion.
• Apple provides the geocoding built into your device, which converts your coordinates into a place name and converts an address you type into coordinates. This happens through iOS itself.

We do not use any advertising or analytics service, and AutoTracker does not process payments or in-app purchases, so no payment processor receives your information.

Location Information

Location access is used only for the nearby shops feature and only while you are actively using that feature. You can decline location access, or turn it off later in your device's Settings, without losing access to the rest of the app — you can still search for shops by typing an address or zip code. We do not use location for any other purpose and we do not track your movements.

Push Notifications

Push notifications are used for maintenance reminders based on the mileage or time interval you set, service warnings, and occasional announcements from us. You can turn notifications on or off at any time from within the app's notification settings or from your device's Settings.

Photos and Camera

The app requests access to your camera and photo library so you can attach photos to your vehicles, receipts to your service entries, and a photo to your profile. You choose each time whether to take a new photo or select an existing one; we do not access your camera or photo library without your action.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account and the information described above for as long as your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and everything stored with it — your profile details and photo, your vehicles, maintenance tasks, service history, uploaded receipt and vehicle images, your notifications, and your saved sign-in credentials.

You can also request deletion using our web-based deletion request form. That form records the email address you enter and any reason you choose to give, so that an administrator can find and delete the matching account; that record is removed when the account is deleted.

Your Rights

You can review and update most of your account and vehicle information directly within the app. You can request a copy of your data, or request that your data be deleted, by contacting us using the information below or by deleting your account in the app.

Children's Privacy

AutoTracker is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
